Mountain Tourism
Mountain biking enthusiasts will find palm forests, coconut trees, leafy vegetation by the sea and all kinds of unexplored paradises and guided tours are very popular in this zone. There is also the possibility of combining a bike trip with a boat ride down the Yásica River.
El Choco National Park is yet another captivating destination. The park is 77 square kilometers of jungle, lagoons, caves, and forest and a large amount of nature to explore. It also has one of the largest reserves of natural water in the country. This includes their well known lagoons Cabarete and Goleta.
There is also the Isabel de Torres Mountain, 2700 feet tall, is one of four scientific reserves of the country and on its top lies a statue of Christ, the Redeemer. It is home of a precious garden full of exotic and scented flowers which can be accesed through the famous Cable Car, a tourist attraction that is on top of the list of the excursions held by tourists and Dominicans.
